Why this website exists
Preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination can feel like standing at the bottom of a very tall mountain with a map in a language you’re still learning. There are too many books, too many opinions, and too many people telling you what you must do.
DcmindUnicorn started from a simple belief: you don’t need more noise, you need clarity. This site is a place where complicated topics are explained in plain, honest language, the way a friend who has studied the subject would explain it to you over a cup of chai.
What you’ll find here
- Topic-wise articles that cover the full syllabus, from History, Polity, Geography and Economy to Environment, Ethics and International Relations.
- PSIR (Political Science and International Relations) notes for optional-subject students, covering political theory, Indian politics, comparative politics and IR.
- Current affairs, simplified, with the “why does this matter for the exam?” angle, not just the headline.
- Answer-writing guidance for Mains and Essay, with structure, examples and the kind of detail examiners look for.
What we believe
Understanding beats memorising. If you understand why something happened, you can write about it from any angle the question takes.
Quality beats quantity. One well-understood article is worth more than ten skimmed ones.
Aspirants deserve honesty. There are no magic shortcuts here. What we offer is clear explanations, steady practice and a realistic picture of what the exam demands.
Everyone starts somewhere. Whether you’re a first-time aspirant from a small town or a working professional studying at night, this site is built for you.
About me
Hello, I’m Dularchandra Kushwaha, the person behind DcmindUnicorn. [Add one or two lines here: where you’re from, your own UPSC journey or interest in it, and why you started this site.]
I write these articles because I believe good explanations should be easy to find and free of confusion. I read widely, check my facts, and try to write the way I’d want a subject explained to me. If something here helps you understand a topic better, it has done its job.
Why “Unicorn”?
A unicorn is rare, a little unusual, and doesn’t follow the herd. That’s the spirit of this site. Aspirants who think independently, question what they read, and build their own understanding are the ones who stand out, and that’s the kind of learner DcmindUnicorn wants to help.
A quick note
The content on this website is for educational purposes. While I work to keep every article accurate and up to date, please cross-check important facts, especially government data, policy details and recent events, with official sources like the UPSC website, PIB, and the relevant ministries before relying on them for your exam.

The logo currently shows “Dcmind” and “Unicorn” on two separate lines. If you want it as one word, DcmindUnicorn, I can update it. Should I also fix the “Why Unicorn?” section to match what the name really means to you?
